Android app to reduce social media time

Stop doomscrolling. Keep the apps you need.

Scroll Hush adds a short pause before Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and other social apps open. Name your reason, set screen time limits, understand your habits, and choose something else when you need a break from the feed.

01 / How it works

Three steps before the feed opens.

Choose which apps to monitor, name your reason and planned time, then take a short pause before Instagram, TikTok or any other monitored app continues. Most mindless scrolling starts with an automatic opening, so that is where Scroll Hush steps in.

1 Choose your app

Select the app you want to open intentionally.

2 Name your reason

Before the feed loads, choose why you are opening and how long you plan to stay.

3 Take a short pause

Take a little pause, so the opening stays deliberate.

02 / Your boundaries

Your apps.
Your screen time limits.

Set shared limits or tune them per app — daily time, session length, visit frequency and breaks between openings. Unlike a daily app timer, session limits stop a single visit from taking the whole evening.

Time
Daily budgets and maximum session duration.
Frequency
Sessions per day and minimum breaks between visits.
Flexibility
Choose enforcement settings and configure grace periods.

Planned time is your choice for one visit. A session limit is the maximum session duration you configured.

Set daily time, session length, visit counts and minimum breaks for the apps you monitor.

03 / Understand your habits

See what your
scrolling looks like.

Social media screen time, sessions, opening reasons and the breaks in between — reports keep your recorded use in one place.

Overview

04 / Something else to do

Read, meditate or stretch instead of scrolling.

When you decide not to open the feed, Scroll Hush has something else ready: a library of classic books, guided meditations and short stretches.

Library

Classic titles ready when you want to read instead of scroll.

Guided meditations

Each meditation on a theme is unique with a myriad of versions per theme, so there is always a new session waiting.

Stretch

A short stretch you can do when the urge to open social apps shows up.

Library

Classic titles ready when you want to read instead of scroll.

05 / Quiet time

Your quiet time becomes a collection.

Time away from the apps you monitor earns points and unlocks Orbits — a collection that grows with your quiet intervals.

Quiet time means time away from monitored apps.

06 / Privacy

Your usage is yours.

Scroll Hush does not read your posts, messages or passwords, has no advertising SDKs and does not sell your usage history. Android permissions let it measure app usage and support the limits you choose. If you sign in, a copy is saved to your account so you can restore it, and you can delete it anytime.

A few things you might want to know.

Can I reduce scrolling without deleting social media?

Yes. You keep your social apps and accounts. Scroll Hush adds a pause, a reason and a planned time before you continue, so you use them on purpose instead of on autopilot.

A digital detox without quitting
Is this just an app blocker?

No. It combines intentional openings, session controls, usage reports and alternatives to scrolling. You can configure limits and enforcement settings.

How is it different from Android's app timers?

Digital Wellbeing app timers cap your daily total for free. Scroll Hush works at the moment of opening: a pause, a reason, a planned time for that visit, plus session limits, minimum breaks between visits and reports by opening reason.

How to set app time limits on Android
Which apps does Scroll Hush support?

Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X, Threads, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Discord, Messenger and WhatsApp, when they are installed. You choose which ones to monitor.

Does Scroll Hush work on iPhone?

No. Scroll Hush is an Android app only.

What Android access does it need?

Usage Access supports reports. Accessibility supports Launch Protection. Display over other apps supports session notices. Before asking for Usage Access or Accessibility, the app explains what each one reads and asks for your consent. Features depend on the access you grant and Android's background behavior.

Does quiet time mean no phone use?

Quiet time is time away from the apps you selected for monitoring. It does not mean time away from your phone or every screen.
